About Newcastle Airport

Newcastle Airport was born on the 26th July, 1935 as a grass runway, a club house, a hangar, workshops, an ambulance room, a hose for petrol and a garage. After years of expansion and development the airport now serves over 3 million passengers each year.
In January 2000, a new £27 million extension was completed, paving the way for further passenger growth. This will no doubt be magnified due to recent decisions from RyanAir and Easyjet to open up new routes at the airport.
Newcastle Airport offers an ever increasing number of scheduled and holiday charter flights to domestic and worldwide destinations.
